Fusion Group has also supported Optiven Foundation for the last three years in a row to empower approximately 8,000 underprivileged students from 20 different counties in Kenya access education. Through the Soaring Eagles Scholarship Programme (SESP), which is part of Optiven’s Foundation Education Pillar, Fusion has extended Kes. 3,000,000.00 investment to restore hope to bright, deserving students by giving them a chance to pursue an education and all
its associated advantages. Fusion believes with such support, many deserving students will be able to achieve improved academic results, increased chances of success in life, increased gender equality in secondary school education, fresh opportunities for students from rural areas and greater social integration among students.
Speaking while giving a further donation on the 23rd May 2022, of Kes. 1 million to Optiven Foundation, Mr. Daniel Kamau, CEO Fusion Group said, “We at Fusion are advocates of 100% transition from primary school to secondary schools. 2022 marks 19 years since the free primary education was introduced but we still have about 1.6 million students out of schools. 1 million in primary schools and about 600,000 in high schools. Our support to Optiven’s Foundation plays some role in ensuring the 600,000 pupils are not stuck at home for lack of shoes, uniforms and other basics and that they actually make it to High School.”.
