- Group Executive Chairman
Phil Goodwin
- Group Executive Chairman
Phil Goodwin saw the potential in East African investment markets as early as 2005, and is Fusion’s Founding investor as well as Chairman of the principal Group Companies and of the Investment Committee.
Phil is responsible for the overall strategic direction of the Group, performance of the Board, performance of the portfolio and fund raising.
Phil has a lifelong career in private equity investment, predominantly in the UK, but also in other parts of Europe, Japan, and Africa.
His early and formative career was spent at 3i, after which he moved to HSBC Private Equity and co-led the management buy-out in 2002, when HSBC Private Equity became Montagu Private Equity.
Montagu is a mid-market private fund typically investing in transaction sizes of GBP£50m to GBP£250m. Montagu had funds and investments under management exceeding GBP£3 billion in 2005, and consistently delivered +30% IRRs over a ten-year period.
Phil holds a Masters from Oxford University and a Doctorate from Manchester University.

Eng. Peter Njagi
- Chairman of the Board
Eng. Njeru is an established entrepreneur and Civil Engineer by profession. He holds an MBA in Finance and is a registered engineer and a member of the Institution of Engineers of Kenya.
He has varied business interests that range from his flagship oil company; Riva Petroleum Dealers to real estate. He is the MD of Riva Petroleum Dealers Ltd and Hand in Hand East Africa Ltd. Eng. Njeru is also a director at Supplycor, P & L Investments, Briken (E.A) Ltd and Truestone (E.A) Ltd.
Eng. Njeru has received several awards including a Head of State commendation; Elder of the Burning Spear (E.B.S) from H.E. the President of the Republic of Kenya for outstanding contribution to the economy and support to society on 12th December 2011. He was also an Ernst & Young Entrepreneur of the Year awards finalist for East Africa in November 2011. Eng. Njeru was awarded the ELNET Mark of Ethics & Integrity Award in November 2016.
His voluntary and service involvement include IFES International where he serves as international vice president and FREDS Ltd where he volunteers as a director.

Ruth Musembi
- Director
Ruth Munyao-Musembi is a highly accomplished Strategic Communication and People Development expert, Change Communication Practitioner & Scholar, and Certified Coach with over 20 years of experience shaping transformative communication and culture strategies across the public, private, and development sectors. Passionate about driving positive change through effective communication, Ruth has consistently partnered with CEOs, senior executives, government leaders, and international development organizations to deliver impact at scale.
Known for her insightful facilitation, evidence-based communication strategies, and people centered leadership development, Ruth remains committed to partnering with mission-driven organizations to unlock growth, trust, and impact.
Currently serving as Associate Managing Partner at Burson Global (formerly Hill & Knowlton Strategies), Ruth leads on capacity building, stakeholder engagement, internal communication, leadership coaching, and culture change. Her work spans crisis and change communication, ESG and sustainability communication, corporate training, and public affairs advisory. She has developed and delivered high-impact training and coaching programs to top leadership teams in organizations such as Stanbic Bank, Lake Turkana Wind Power, GiveDirectly, and World Vision.
Ruth holds a Master of Arts in Communication from Daystar University and is currently pursuing a Ph.D. in Change Management Communication at the same institution, deepening her thought leadership in organizational transformation and strategic influence.
Ruth is a Fellow of the Public Relations Society of Kenya (PRSK) and a recipient of the PRSK Golden Honors/Lifetime Achievement Award, recognizing her outstanding contribution to the profession. She is also a Certified Coach with extensive experience in executive and team coaching, supporting leaders and organizations to align communication, culture, and performance.

Daniel Kamau
- Group Chief Executive Officer
Daniel Kamau is the Group Chief Executive Officer at Fusion Capital Limited. He has been with Fusion for over 17 years and is the immediate former Executive Director in charge of Real Estate, the division which has seen the Group evolve from a medium size micro equity firm to a private equity operator and a leading real estate developer and fund manager.
Key positions he has held within Fusion Group include: Head Private Equity and Business Development Manager. Daniel’s expertise spans from Real Estate Investing, Private Equity and off Market Debt Investing & management, Deal Origination, Structuring and Negotiation, Due Diligence, Financial Modelling and Boards Management.
Prior to joining Fusion he worked for a leading audit firm in Nairobi. Under his leadership at Fusion, the Real Estate business unit increased the real estate commitments across the East African region to over USD. 200 Million. He has guided real estate investments into retail development, office and housing with deal ranging from USD. 200,000 to USD.40 Million. Daniel serves in various boards where he represents Fusion Groups interests.
Daniel trained in private equity at the British Venture Capital Association in United Kingdom and is a Member of the Institute of Directors of Kenya. He holds a Bachelor of Commerce-double major graduate (Accounting and Business Management) from Daystar University. Daniel was recognized as the 18th ELNET (Executive Leadership Network) Ethical Leader for the period 2018 to 2023. Daniel has also been reorganized in the Top 40 under 40 Men in Kenya in 2018 and 2021.

James Maclean
- Executive Director
James Maclean is the Executive Director of Real Estate at Fusion Capital. James has been with Fusion for 12 years and currently heads up Fusion’s Real Estate Department. James is responsible for all aspects of Fusion’s Real Estate Portfolio from deal sourcing, structuring, and fundraising, through project development and asset management, to investment exit. James also has experience in the planning and structuring of REIT’s within the East African market.
James initially joined Fusion as a Credit Officer in 2009. Prior to joining the Kenya deal team in 2014 he worked as a fundraising manager with Fusion in the UK. As well as leading three successful project fundraises during this time, James also designed, structured, and implemented Fusion’s unique Portfolio Management Service. James holds a Bachelor of Science degree from the University of Bath.

Michael Kimondo
- Executive Director
Michael is the Executive Director, Asset Management at Fusion Investment Management. He has been with Fusion group for over 9 years and he initially served as the Finance Manager at Fusion Capital before moving to Treasury Function at Fusion Investment Management.
Michael oversees the Liquid Markets Investments activities of the company which includes investment in the quoted markets, fixed income and the Money Markets across East Africa. He is in charge of Wealth and Pension Fund management at Fusion and leads the local fundraising. Michael is also responsible for all aspects of our interaction with investors in Kenya.
Before joining Fusion, he worked as an Accountant with Laborex Europharma (Kenya), a subsidiary of Compagnie Française de l’Afrique Occidentale (CFAO). He also practiced briefly as an Audit assistant. Michael is a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) graduate from the University of Nairobi and a Certified Public Accountant (Kenya). He is currently reading for a Master of Business Administration (MBA) degree at the University of Nairobi.
He is a member of Institute of Certified Public Accountants of Kenya (ICPAK), a registered members of the Institute of Certified Investment and Financial Analysts (ICIFA) and Chartered Institute for Securities & Investment (CISI).

She holds a Bachelor of Commerce (Finance) and is a Certified Public Accountant (CPA-K) and provides leadership in financial planning, regulatory compliance, reporting, and administrative oversight.
Hannah has a demonstrable ability to design and implement robust financial strategies, optimize internal controls, and support business growth through efficient resource management.
She is well-versed in budgeting, risk management, and cross-functional coordination to align financial operations with broader organizational goals.

Zennah Kerubo

With over 11 years of hands-on experience in the real estate industry, Zennah is a seasoned professional renowned for her ability to drive strategic growth, spearhead marketing innovation, and align sales processes with broader business goals. Her extensive industry knowledge spans residential and commercial developments, off-plan project marketing, and investor engagement making her a valuable asset in both established firms and fast-scaling environments.
Zennah’s passion lies in building strong, recognizable brands that not only stand out in a competitive market but also deliver measurable value. She has successfully led numerous product launches, rebranding initiatives, and integrated marketing campaigns that have significantly boosted brand visibility and market share. Her expertise in consumer behavior, market positioning, and digital integration has enabled her to craft customer-centric strategies that convert prospects into loyal clients
As a strong advocate for operational excellence, Zennah has played a pivotal role in developing and refining sales pipelines, coaching sales teams, and embedding performance metrics that directly improve the bottom line.
Zennah holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Commerce (Marketing) at Kenyatta University and continually updates her knowledge through industry forums . Her approach to business is both results-driven and people-focused, ensuring sustainable growth while fostering positive team dynamics and stakeholder engagement.

Vincent Nderitu

Vincent is a seasoned Project Manager with over 10 years of experience in the Real Estate industry covering Building Construction, Infrastructure, Interior Fit-Outs and Real Estate Financing with particular interest in mass affordable housing in Kenya and Africa. He has previously handled developments worth over $ 50 Million for various players within the Kenyan Real Estate sector.
He is currently overseeing the deployment of all the construction developments under Fusion Group including commercial and residential buildings, infrastructure and overall portfolio Development Management.
He holds a Bachelor of Construction Management from Jomo Kenyatta University of Agriculture & Technology (JKUAT) and a Postgraduate Certificate in Construction Project Management from the University of Cape Town; and a member of the Institute of Construction Project Managers of Kenya (ICPMK).

In her current role, Njambi leads a dynamic team of internal sales executives and oversees a broad network of agency partners. She is responsible for driving sales performance, optimizing operational efficiency, and ensuring that customer satisfaction remains a top priority. Her leadership style blends strategic thinking with a hands-on approach, making her a trusted mentor and team player.
Njambi is particularly skilled in structuring and negotiating property deals, training sales teams, and executing go-to-market strategies that align with company objectives.
